To exist as a company that supports the creative indeavors of emerging artists and provides a prosperous facility for their work to reach the stage, and a positive place for artists to exercise their skills and expertise.
To bring new and old plays and musicals from the imaginations of the playwright/collaborators to the stage while engaging the expertise of many different emerging artists in all elements of writing/design/direction and to approach social obstacles with a fun and creative twist.
Alison Blair (Hocapontas)
Alison Blair is fresh out of school at Sheridan College and the University of Toronto's love child, Theatre and Drama Studies. You may have recently seen her topless in Theatre Erindale's production of Our Country's Good or perhaps popping the cherry of either Theatre Erindale's collective creation A Child of Survivors or Saint's Alive!'s production of the original musical Beautiful City. You can also catch her in Speakeasy Productions’ upcoming Caribbean Dream under the direction of Marvin Ishmael at the end of the month. Alison usually plays virgins, but not anymore, she is fresh on the scene and ready to be corrupted, she'll see you at the Fringe Tent tonight ;)
Guy Bradford (Prince of Babble)
Hailing from the concrete utopia of Hamilton, Ontario, and sporting the greenest eyes and strongest jawline in the biz, Guy Bradford has attended numerous institutions for the performing arts, including the University of Windsor Drama program, the Second City Conservatory, and the Humber College Comedy Writing and Performance program, whereupon he became the first-ever recipient of the Colin Mochrie Improvisation Award. Guy also performs monthly sketch comedy shows in and around Toronto with his troupe, Rulers of the Universe, who most recently won first-place at this year's Sketch Com-Ageddon. In addition to all of that, you can check out Guy performing in nothing but the smallest pair of briefs imaginable in the Skrillex music video, "Devil's Den". You have been warned. Special thanks to the cast and crew of this extremely fun production, friends, and family.
Andrea Brown (Rasmine) **
Andrea has been pleased to assume the position of Rasmine. Other shows in which she has appeared half-dressed include: What is the Mango Project? (Ensemble, Fringe '09), After Magritte (Thelma, Alumnae Theatre), Cabaret (Sally, Alexander Singers & Players) and Evil Dead: The Musical (Swing, Diesel Playhouse). A graduate cum laude of George Brown Theatre School and Queen's University. Spank you to the production team, the cast and Anaconda, for the private tutorials. In her spare time, Andrea enjoys trimming her bushes and pole dancing.
**Appears courtesy of CAEA.
Natasha Buckeridge (Fairy Godmother)
Natasha came all the way to Toronto from the U.K. (quite a feat!) in January, after having suffered performance anxiety in her formative years in such productions as Into The Woods (She did Cinderella three times, dont'cha know!), Pirates Of Penzance, and played with some guys from the Welsh National Opera. Since then she has spent many a year displaying her wares to various audiences around the U.K. Natasha is a virgin - to the Toronto Fringe Festival, and is very much looking forward to playing with each of her new friends.
Megan Campagnolo (Costume Design)
Though Megan is used to costuming behind the camera, this is a rare foray into theatre for her. A Ryerson University fashion student, Megan has worked previously assisting the Randolph's production of Rocky Horror Picture Show, as well as The City, a Ryerson University student film. Though working backstage involves acting as a real-life fluffer, as far as clothing goes, Megan likes leaving certain things "to the imagination" and prefers not to kiss and tell.
Saphire Demitro (Snow Wheat)
Saphire is a little too excited to be playing Snow Wheat in POP the musical. She has had the extreme pleasure of delving deep into characters like Rizzo in Grease (St Clair), Oolie/Donna in City of Angels (TYT), Willow Scarlette in Robin Hood (TYT) and Betty in The Great American Trailer Park Musical (Hart House) to name a few of her conquests. Saphire couldn't be happier that The Princess of Porn will be taking her fringe cherry! Special thanks to the cast, crew, her fam jam and her best friend/love Chiano for all of their love and support. Let's get wild.
David DiFrancesco (King of Porn)
David couldn't be hornier, I mean happier, to be working with this talented group of (porn)stars. Last seen strutting his stuff in Staging a Rebellion (Docket Theatre) and Macbeth (Hart House Theatre). David is a graduate of the University of Windsor's (Porn)Acting program, where he played Blore in And Then There Were None, Sidney in Smash, and the Ass (Bottom) in A Midsummer Night's Dream.
Murphy Diggon (Assistant Stage Manager)
This is Murphy's first time working on the Fringe festival and is excited to have The Princess of Porn strip her of her Fringe virginity. It was long overdue. She has had a great time helping erect the show with such a team of experts!
Sydney Dunitz (Hariel)
Sydney Dunitz is a small town gal making her way through the casting couches of the big city. Having perfected her skills at UofT/Sheridan's Theatre and Drama Studies program, she has been rockin' audiences ever since. She has become rather adept at undressing for the stage, and has most recently been seen delving deep into Cyrano de Bergerac (Seventh Method Productions), Twelfth Night or Whatever (Snobbish Theatre), and Cellar Hotel (Chicken Coop Theatre). Sydney has enjoyed every second of this cast's tight, smooth and exciting thrust into this year's Fringe, and hopes that you'll all join in the fun! Ohhh baby.
Chelsea Ferrando (Director, Choreographer)
This is the first time Chelsea is directing for Fringe, and she is thrilled her first time could have been with such a loving, caring cast as The Princess of Porn. They were all tremendously supportive, and we all even cuddled after. Chelsea has a big, bulgy BFA from the University of Windsor. Chelsea’s other directing credits include: Everything Blows Away, The Occupation of Heather Rose, OVER, and others. She has also choreographed pieces that have been performed in a variety of venues like the El Mocambo, FRINGE, Second City, the Cameron House, and for the Leftover Daylight series. She is grateful to have you share this fairy tale with her.
Alejandra Galindo (Set Design)
Alejandra is very excited to be a part of The Princess of Porn orgy as their set designer. She is currently studying at Ryerson Theatre School for Production, and will be graduating next year. Her past partners have been the Coffeehouse Theatre's production of The Underpants, as well as their production for this year's Fringe, Linda and Jason. She was also intimately involved in the production of Rabbit Hole for the 2011 Toronto Fringe Festival. Alejandra had a fabulous time with everyone in this production and hopes to get involved with many more partners to come.
Christian Jeffries (Queen of Babble)
Christian has been around the block a few times at the Fringe, and this is his sixth year in deep. He has strutted his stuff in previous productions Love is a Poverty You Can Sell, Cellar Hotel, Deadly Dinners, and It’s Just A Phase. He has toured across Canada and the USA in drag as Wilma Holehurt, and trust me, it did. He has been a regular on Queer as Folk, and in the HBO film Soldier’s Girl. He’d like to thank Vik for the chance to play a woman instead of a drag queen for once, and for David for treating him like the queen he is.
Nathalie Kraemer (Bellemia)
Nathalie comes from far far away, and has been traveling and exploring through many parts. On her path of discovery she kept an open mind, and believes that curiosity did not kill the cat. Thus she gained experience in producing oral sounds and sharing melodies with a wide audience. She mastered the craft of Hentai drawings and Hentai moving images. Her bag of tools include physical engagement in various short films, stage plays, and musicals, with the highlight of them all being a 3 and a half hour performance in Dead Certain, making it the proudest of her accomplishments. Nathalie is looking forward to go on a hole-opening adventure with the cast and crew of The Princess of Porn.
Carolyn Lawrence (Fluffer)
Carolyn couldn't be happier as the right hand man - literally - in this cast of uniquely talented individuals. Pushing her acting muscles to the extreme, recent exploits stretch from the drunken slurs of Sir Toby Belch in Twelfth Night (Written on Water), to the defiant proclamations of Sofia in Widows (University Players). Though she is new to the delicate and often messy role of Fluffer, Carolyn is pumped and ready to assist her playmates in any and all positions... Bring it on!
David Liotta (Stage Manager, Assistant Producer)
David comes with years of experience as a dom in S&M, and prefers being on top. David has SM'd past Fringe successes Rabbit Hole, and The Killing Game, and is looking forward to completing the Fringe threesome with The Princess of Porn. Though this S&M experience has been one of the most gruelling he's experienced thus far, as the saying goes, 'no pain, no gain'. David loves all his actors and crew equally, and is grateful for all their talents and dedication. But especially the one who met him in the alley behind the Fringe tent last night. You know who you are. ;)
Anita Nittoly (Pafunzel, Fight & Dance Captain)
Anita Nittoly started her career as an agile, flexible, limber dancer, working her way up the pole to be a choreographer. She attended Toronto Dance Theatre, exploiting her suppleness to their Modern Intensive Program. Not completely satisfied, she stretched her talents to Humber's Acting for Film and Television Program and, while there, found an undeniable passion for film and stage combat -- oh yes, yes, YES! Anita likes to cross swords as an instructor with the Academy of Dramatic Combat and play with lots of other fun toys as a stunt performer in film and TV. She's thankful to the cast and crew for their big, bountiful voices and well-endowed talents!
Joseph Patrick (Lighting Design)
Joseph comes from the sexy sidelighting world of Classical and Contemporary ballet lighting. Having served 3 seasons with Ballet Jörgen Canada as Lighting Director from 2008-2011, he toured all major ballets in the current repertoire and made every show look like a red light district. Hot and steamy designs for Ballet Jörgen Canada include Life & Laughter, Icarus, & Frog & Toad. Recent spankable Assistant Lighting Design Credits include, The Aleph (Soulpepper Theatre Company), The Pitmen Painters (Theatre Aquarius), Misalliance, French Without Tears, and Come Back, Little Sheba (Shaw Festival). Upcoming projects include Assistant Lighting Design for Don Giovanni (Banff Centre).
Adam Sakiyama (Composer, Musical Director)
B.Mus. (Humber College). Adam is cashing in his Fringe V-Card on this production, and he knows that it's going to be special. Having grown up on a steady diet of Disney musicals, Adam had a great time getting his hands dirty on this project. You could call Adam adventurous, his credits including musicals, short films, modern dance works, video game soundtracks, website jingles and more. He just finished up music directing Top Gun: The Musical (Lower Ossington Theatre). You can hear more of Adam's work in Clouds Over TO, (Guild Festival Theatre) later this month. He couldn't be prouder of this sexy bunch. Adam will be available for cuddles and spooning following the performance.
Vikki Velenosi (Princess of Porn, Producer, Playwright)
Vikki Velenosi is a princess and a pornstar in real life. Ok..only one of those is true. You guess which one (….ok…ok…it’s “princess”). She has been having an affair with the theatre since she was 9 years old. She has since charged the theatre with Statutory rape, but the case was thrown out. Vikki holds a great big, throbbing BFA degree from the University of Windsor and holds a little tiny minor in English. But size doesn’t really matter… Past theatrical fixations include: The Hidden Word in My Vocabulary: Voice 4 (Alumnae Theatre), Richard III: Lady Ann, The Seagull: Nina (UWindsor Studio Theatre), The Third degree: Detective Tabler, Cellar Hotel: Wrath (Chicken Coop Theatre), Sweeney Todd: Beggar Woman, Into the Woods: Lucinda (Theatre Aquarius). Vikki would like to thank her mom and dad for raising a versatile girl who knows how to say no, but also how to never take no for an answer.
Terence Vince (Orchestration)
Terence is a musician, actor, and performer (AKA a big ho...) who enjoys going through life with a sense of wide-legged wonder. As a musician, Terence has mastered the art of working the 88 keys to a woman’s heart (sometimes her chastity belt). Despite having his post-secondary career cut short following an unfortunate incident involving getting caught by the dean with his daughter, his resume boasts numerous accolades. As an actor, Terence has cock-blocked Jesus as Judas in E.M.P’s Jesus Christ Superstar, lived the bohemian lifestyle in T3 Production’s RENT, and as a music director, kept it gay in The Producers. Terence is honoured to be a part of the Toronto Fringe festival for the 2nd time, as well as being a part of the closest thing to a Disney princess fantasy he can ever fathom.
